Consulting & Organisational Development
We transform ideas into impactful realities — using our knowledge, networks, and skills to connect NGOs, businesses, creative arts, and government with the resources and people they need to thrive.
The Associate Project exists to move concepts through every stage of the organisational development life cycle — from inception to sustainability. We work across the NGO, business, creative arts, and government sectors.
Whether it's shaping new programmes, developing business ideas, or supporting organisational growth, we specialise in the full journey — ensuring that every idea reaches not just launch, but long-term impact.
Our boutique model gives you access to some of the most talented individuals in our network — people motivated by purpose and driven to grow your ideas into projects and businesses that create lasting impact.
We bring together the brightest associates, TAPping into our well of talent to build yours.
Growing ideas grows people. Growing people creates jobs.
Our passion is building individuals and their projects to contribute to a better, more resilient world. As we move deeper into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we want to ensure that innovation is powered not just by technology but by fully equipped, creative, and capable people.
We believe in the power of new ideas to reshape sectors — and we provide the structure to bring them to life responsibly.
Great outcomes happen when the right people find each other. Our network is our most powerful resource.
We don't just help you start — we walk with you through each stage of growth to ensure long-term sustainability.
Our teams bring fresh expertise to your project. Associates may come and go, but all our work is guided by our Principal Associate, ensuring every project delivers meaningful growth.
Principal Associate
Gillion's career has traced the very journey The Associate Project walks with its clients — from the Cape Flats to the University of Cape Town, through classrooms, boardrooms, council chambers, and the floor of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament.
He has managed education and climate-change programmes for the British Council, building budgets and partnerships across local and international stakeholders. He has shaped learning content at Pearson, served communities as a City of Cape Town councillor, and chaired provincial committees spanning social development, finance, economic opportunities, and tourism. As a Mandela Washington Fellow and chairperson of Dress for Success Cape Town, he has seen first-hand how the right connection, at the right moment, changes a person's trajectory.
That conviction is the founding idea of The Associate Project: ideas grow when they meet the people, resources, and structures they need. Gillion guides every engagement to ensure meaningful growth is not a by-product, but the deliberate outcome.
